Event Description
This workshop, the fifth in the series, will be presented on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 2 p.m., at the Webster Public Library. You do not need to have attended the previous workshops in the series to benefit.  This session explores the geographic and historical forces that influenced where our ancestors lived and how they moved. Participants will examine historical maps, changing boundaries, local histories, and major migration patterns to better understand the context of their family’s records. Using practical examples, the class will demonstrate how place-based research can uncover new clues, clarify inconsistencies, and shed light on the world your ancestors experienced. Presented by the Rochester Genealogical Society.
