This will be a two-part program. Part I will be focusing on learning and understanding tools and techniques. Part II will be taking what we learned from the first session and putting it into practice at a local cemetery.

The following items will be discussed and demonstrated...
  • types of digital cameras and smartphones
  • functions and tools available on a digital and smart phone camera that assist you in taking better photos
  • taking photos in different light/exposure
  • when to use the flash and when you shouldn't
  • resolution, exposure, other photography terms- purpose and how they can help take the best photo
  • reducing glare
  • focusing on specific items
  • tools that an assist in photography (tripod, sun shade, etc.) - tools especially that may be useful to a genealogist taking photos in cemeteries, older buildings and homes, artifacts, etc.
