Speaker Bio:
Eric Vaughn started his genealogical journey over 24 years ago wanting to know more about his mother's parents and what brought them to Fulton, NY. This one project has turned into a passion that he continues to contribute every day. Eric works full-time as a career coach with graduate students and postdocs at the University of Rochester and is an active member of the Rochester Genealogical Society and serves as the second vice-president, coordinator for the Technology Interest Group, and delegate for the National Genealogical Society.
Eric loves utilizing a variety of genealogical research tools, but his favorite includes old newspapers that share stories and experiences not found in other resources or periodicals. Today's session will share his personal experiences utilizing newspapers, what he has learned, and tricks he has gained to maximize his research.
