2024-26 Slate of Officers
Tawnya Post, Candidate for First Vice President
  • Education: MS Business, Executive Program, Saunders College, RIT
  • Career: Paychex; professional genealogist since 2021 (www.postmoderngenealogy.com)
  • Experience: Member, Association of Professional Genealogists; contract coordinator for Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy; lifelong resident of Western New York; currently researching her Chapman family line with ties to Western New York and Vermont.
  • Statement: How would you serve RGS as First Vice President? I would bring my life-long passion for both genealogy and education to the role of First Vice President.


Todd Andrea, Candidate for Treasurer
  • Education: BS Business Administration, SUNY Brockport
  • Career: Tax search specialist, clerk US Postal Service; professional genealogist since 2022 (www.genvalleygenealogy.com); Legacy Tree Genealogists
  • Experience: NYRGS Treasurer since July 2023; CG (Certified Genealogist); born and raised in Rochester; currently researching German immigrant ancestors who came to Rochester in 1853.
  • Statement: How would you continue to serve RGS Treasurer? I would continue to serve RGS by managing the society's funds, paying the bills on time, and trying to balance the budget.
Ann Schauber, Candidate for Membership Secretary
  • Education: Associates Degree, Information Technology, Monroe Community College
  • Career: Systems Analyst at Excellus BCBS, retired after 35 years; contract work for Excellus and CoreLink (Fargo, ND)
  • Experience: NYRGS Membership Secretary since 2015; grew up in Irondequoit; has been doing genealogy since 2006; and in 2011, met a cousin she didn’t know she had on a bus trip to Toronto.
  • Statement: How would you continue to serve as RGS Membership Secretary? I would continue to serve RGS as Membership Secretary as needed by the President and Board of Directors.
John Caufield, Candidate for Historian/Genealogist
  • Background: Masters, Public Administration, SUNY Brockport
  • Career: Public Safety; retired COO, Monroe Ambulance.
  • Experience: Volunteer, Family Search Center & Family Finders Genealogy Club, Central Library; family in Rochester since 1840s; currently researching Irish roots of his family and that of his wife.
  • Statement: How would you serve RGS as Historian/Genealogist? I would serve RGS by maintaining the surname list, by digitizing and improving access to our records, and by working with members to build and strengthen the RGS.
